From the editors

It's our first birthday and to celebrate we've devised a competition sure to test your local knowledge to the full.

Our thanks to Mrs Mary Grace, of Mytholmroyd, for compiling one of her noted quizzes especially for Milltown Memories, and to all our advertisers who have generously donated prizes.

This time last year we were just preparing to launch the magazine, fingers crossed that it would meet with approval. Your enthusiastic and - generally speaking! - complimentary response far exceeded anything we anticipated and our "baby" is now a thriving toddler, appropriately growing in size (we've gone up to 52 pages with this issue).

We've also given the magazine a new look, with a few re-design tweaks here and there, but we can assure readers who have told us they really like our convenient A5 format, with its high quality photos and distinctive cream and sepia cover, that our dedication to quality and lots of good reading will never change.
